TAURIC CHERSONESOS. Chersonesos. Circa 250-200 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 4.66 g, 11 h), Apollonides, magistrate. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. XEP / [A]ΠΟΛΛΩNI Bull butting to left, his head facing; to right, countermark of a dolphin swimming left within oval incuse. Frolova & Abramzon 369 var. and SNG Stancomb 482 var. (both with additional countermark on the obverse). Very rare. Minor weakness on the obverse from countermarking, otherwise, good very fine.
